probably a family bird can be ok, if the bird is cared for and loved by the parents. a bird is not ok to be around a young child, as both can get hurt, but a 10 year oldcan get on perfectly well with a parrot if his parents teach him how to take care of it and if it’s a parrot that lives 20 or more years consider that th boy might go to university and have to leave the bird. the parents will have to keep the bird then.
Anyway, budgies tend to be wild, kids get bored of them quick.
i had a bird once but i was going to Rhode Island and my friend had to take care of him and when i came back he was dead thats messed up yo i hate there family and her so yeah byee and we had him for 11 years and a little girl did something to him. And i know she did cause shes evil ok dont mess with me cause i will hert you okay gtg STORM IM SCARED HEEEEE HEEEEEE WAHHHH WAHHHH okay beyee and we cought him okayy thx gtg beyyeyeyedfdfbvgdgfsbfdgbhfdghfdsghsfdgh
i cant get my bird to sit on my hand… he always jumps to my shoulder or head
yeah i got my first parakeet at the age of 5 for my bday and he lasted for 1 year. I took care of him, the only fault was he was lonely and there was a mirror in the cage and he would try to feed his reflection and not himself, 5 year olds can take care of keets
I’ve always wanted a pet, but any fur gives me allergic reactions. I’m getting a little dry right now cuz im in this house we just moved into and they had cats + dogs =( anyways I’m really responsible and I go to school at 7:45 and return 3:15 = 4:15. Would a parakeet be a good pet..?
Birds don’t have fur. They have feathers which are different. Not sure if allergies apply or not though. There are 91 kinds of parakeets, which species are you talking about? If you are asking about budgerigars, they can be great pets but require a lot of work and taming. They do shed a little bit of feathers and make a little bit of bird powder but the bird is so small that I doubt it would cause much allergies. If you can be a responsible owner, I don’t see why not.
ohh sry i knew what feathers are lol. and yeah, I was talking about budgies. I’m not sure though cuz I’ve never had an interactive pet before, I’ve only had fish..
if you buy two then it would be fine because they could entertain them selfs intill you get back home

This is a great video, very interesting.
first you want to leave the bird alone for a day or two so it can get used to its new home. you also wanna put it in a place where you are a lot. After it is some what used to u try to feed it a piece of millet if it flys dont chase it around the cage just try again later. After it is used to eat out of ur hand try to take it out of the cage by training it the UP command when it comes out talk to millet and put it back
i get them at this place and theyre 4 bucks and r healthy too
untill the child has to pay for the vet bills
acturally u wouldnt want to leave it alone it is like if u just adopted a child u would want to play with it not leave it alone in a cage u want to get to know it

they can talk but some do not,and if they do you have to say 1 word,1 week straight like everytime you see it say ‘hello’ or
