When you pick out a bird cage, do not forget to pick a a cage that will be comfortable for your pet bird and his daily life, not just a cage that is big enough! Be sure to take into account the wingspan of your pet bird – a cage must allow a lot of space for stretching his wings and allow for a good range of movement – without being cramped. Exercise will relieve many behavioral problems so allow a lot of space. It is always a good idea to spend some time every day playing with your bird outside the cage, inside a playpen or a bird-safe room. Also, be sure to keep your birds cage away from smoke, chemicals, strong smells, loud noises and drafts.
